Michael Perkins

I believe that in the 71st minute of the Italy/Scotland match Laidlaw caught the ball in-goal from a forward pass and called for a mark. At least he raised his crooked arm and seemed to shout something. After playing for 28 seasons I reffed for a further 21 retiring in 2007. I think it was the case that a mark could be made from a forward pass but I never saw this happen in all those years. From a reading of the online Laws, the rather bizarre Law now seems to have disappeared.

Whilst writing my personal reffing gripes are (of course) - not straight at the scrum and back row players releasing their binding before the ball is out.
