Hi everybody!

1st question :  is it the same time (2*7min) for the CUP, PLATE etc finals or 2*10min?

2nd question :

-just before the horn, there is a penalty. Team decides to kick the ball for a lineout. They can play the linet out a the game will stop when the ball goes dead right?

-just after the horn (end of the time) there is a penalty. Same thing. Can they kick the ball or do they have to play it no to loose the penalty advantage?

Thankx a lot!

Hi Philippe
5.7 (e) Time
If a penalty is kicked into touch after time has elapsed without touching another player, the referee allows the throw-in to be taken and play continues until the next time the ball becomes dead.

1st:
That's up to the match organizer. A final may  last up to 2*10min.
At World Rugby they decided to play the finals 2*7 in the world series.

2nd:
LAW AMENDMENT TRIAL 2017:
"If a penalty is kicked into touch after time has elapsed without touching another player, the throw-in is taken and play continues until the next time the ball becomes dead.
To end the half, the ball must be tapped before the kick to touch."
